NELMAC
NELMAC, owned by Nelson City Council, uses KernMobile for the management of the City’s horticultural assets.
The
Brief
In 2008 NELMAC required a solution from KernMobile for two key
purposes: scheduling and recording mobile works for its
horticultural contract with the Nelson City Council.
The aim was to increase the efficiency and accuracy of the field
data capture processes and associated auditing and reporting for
multiple contracts with the Nelson City Council, which cover all
the parks and reserves in the Nelson City region.
The KernMobile Solution
KernMobile configured its core system to allow NELMAC teams to
schedule and record specific tasks being carried out in the field.
The system produces a "run-sheet" of work to be carried out for the
week based on the frequency of allocated tasks at a particular park
or reserve. It also provides information about where teams were in
real time, which helped NELMAC use its teams more effectively.
Outcome
NELMAC believes it has introduced 50% efficiency around its
internal contract management practices.
"KernMobile has been of huge benefit in helping us to fulfil
our Nelson City Council contracts more efficiently and more
accurately. It has allowed us to provide a better balance of work
across our different work crews and zones, significantly reduce
errors, and to carry out recording and scheduling fare more quickly
and easily. It has completely transformed our processes for the
better."
