Whakatane District Council

The Whakatane District Council uses KernMobile mainly to improve strategic decision making in relation to asset maintenance and repair as well as to better serve their community.

The Brief

For the Whakatane District Council, strategic decision making around asset maintenance and repair was the main reason KernMobile was approached. It needed to increase asset data confidence which could not be achieved through ad-hoc spreadsheets and access databases previously used for data recording. In addition, Whakatane needed a system that would integrate with its existing Asset Management and GIS systems.

The KernMobile Solution

KernMobile was configured to meet the data capture and works maintenance requirements for the Whakatane District Council assets including: water networks, stormwater networks, wastewater networks, parks, buildings, and facilities. The Kern system created workflows that did not leave any room for error by spotting any inconsistencies in data recording. It also created interfaces to Hansen and MapInfo.

Outcome

Although Whakatane just went live with the KernMobile system, they can already see the difference that Kern has on their business processes.
