Integration
KernMobile integrates and works seamlessly with your existing systems. Using the latest Internet technology, KernMobile sends data directly from the field to your databases in real time in the exact format your system requires.
Integration
Most of the KernMobile implementations to date have included
integration to a client's backend systems. Examples of systems that
KernMobile has integrated with successfully in the past include
Hansen 7, Hansen 8, ARC GIS (ESRI), FinanceOne, MapInfo, Proclaim,
and SPM. Furthermore, interfaces to Ozone and Maximo are
currently being built.
To integrate with backend systems, KernMobile uses datapump
interfaces. Datapump interfaces to external systems fall into one
of 3 categories. They can be database interfaces, web service
interfaces, or intermediate interfaces.
KernMobile supports two major databases i.e. SQL Server and
Oracle. We do not write directly into live production databases but
encourage the use of transfer tables and views. These allow data to
be extracted from the live system and transferred to Kern or placed
by Kern into a transfer table. It is the responsibility of the
customer to transfer data from the transfer tables into the live
system. KernMobile provides guidance around this.
The KernMobile web service interfaces provide a better way to
transfer data than traditional database interfaces.
Some external systems that do not currently support database or
web service integration allow data to be imported. To facilitate
this we support a variety of common import/export formats including
CSV, XML and Microsoft Access MDF.
