The KernMobile Components

The KernMobile Solution consists of 5 basic components. Not all of them are required in every implementation.

Management Console

The KernMobile system is built around an online Management Console that allows the user organisation to manage works that come in from the field and/or get sent out to staff in the field.

The KernMobile Management Console allows the designing of job forms and then the adding/editing/deleting of tasks and work orders when required. Once a job form is designed, work orders can simply be added to the console, and automatically be delivered to the field staff. The status and progress of the work orders can be checked at any point through the console.

The KernMobile Management Console will also allow comprehensive 'online' integration to existing systems, so that works can be generated in one system and the mobile system will pick up those works and deliver them to the appropriate field staff if required.

Lastly, the Management Console includes a comprehensive user management area and data reporting area that allows users to be added/deleted/retired from the system or data reported/extracted from system as and when required.

KernMobile Field Client Software

Field data capture is facilitated by installing the KernMobile field client software on Pocket PC devices (including smart phones) or larger format devices such as Laptops and Tablets.

This software will be used as the basis for field data capture in online or offline mode for maintenance works carried out in the field.

Staff can proactively address situations and capture the required information as and when required. As well, crews receive work orders and service requests that have been initiated either through the KernMobile console or through various backend systems that have been integrated with KernMobile.

Management and design of the screen content within the field client application is managed via the KernMobile Management Console. In other words - clients have full control over the content of the system themselves and can change the application based on current work needs.

The KernMobile field client software has its own onboard database and as such data will be stored on the device from the field data capture until such a time that the data is uploaded to the Management Console, either via online or store and forward environments.

KernMobile Data Pump

The KernMobile data pump is a data integration system that provides two-way connectivity between KernMobile and back-end systems.

It is fully configurable and can be setup to run at various times during the day, export just closed tasks or all changes and can send data to more than one back-end system.

Field mapping allows any KernMobile field to be mapped to any existing back-end system with associated fields.

Currently supported interfaces include SQL Server, Microsoft Access, CSV, XML and Hansen Data Mapping.  An open architecture allows additional interfaces to be easily added.

KernMobile Webservice

The KernMobile Webservice is the hub of the application and controls information flow and third party database interaction for all components of the KernMobile system.

The KernMobile Web Service sits on the hosted server. Publication of the Web Service to the Internet is the key to the implementation of the KernMobile system.

KernMobile Vehicle Tracking Module

The Vehicle Tracking Module allows a dispatcher to see on a single screen the location of all vehicles and assigned and unassigned tasks. This enhances the ability of the dispatcher to assign a new job to the most appropriate crew.

The Vehicle Tracking feature can be accessed through the Management Console.
